My Jeep the Monster.   monster_truck_crushing_cars_md_clr.gif (33934 bytes)

History:  I purchased the Jeep in 2000 from a fellow military body.  I was stationed at the time at Ft. Cordon, Colorado with the best of the best of the best, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne).  The Jeep was in bad shape and only the frame and the axles where salvageable.  I decided to build and fabricate my own Jeep utilizing the on-post auto craft shop.   The Ft. Carson auto craft shop has everything a car hobbyist could want.   To my disposal was two paint both, body shop, muffler shop, tire balancing area, engine and transmission rebuild areas with hoists and everything.   So I took my Jeep on a regular basis to the craft shop with the intent to build the meanest machine on the road, well at least in the immediate area.

The following was accomplished:

1. Cut out the rusted areas (pretty much everything) of the body with a plasma cutter and welded in several new body parts.
2. Replaced the engine with an AMC 6.3 litter engine that had several modifications. The old engine was a AMC 258, 4.2 litter.
3. Replaced the weak 5 speed transmission with a 3 speed bomb proof transmission from an older Jeep.
4. Installed an Offenhouser dual carburetor intake with two 600cfm Edelbrook carburetors.
5. Installed VDO and airplane gauges on the dash with all the trimming.
6. Installed electric seats that came out of a Dodge Daytona.
7. Installed a brush guard that used to be installed on a Military HUMMER. (Don't ask)
8. Installed diamond plated metal on several key locations for extra protection from rocks and other vehicles.
9. At the end I covered the entire vehicle with bedliner to protect the vehicle from the elements.

Possible future modifications
